My name is Anthony Vano, and I recently retired as a bartender. Tip the Bartender is a collection of anecdotes, stories, and conversations collected during my 20 years of slinging drinks from behind a bar.My favorite part of bartending is that it offers countless opportunities for amazing conversations with guests and fellow bartenders alike. Everybody has a story to tell or a confession to make. An exciting achievement. A haunting regret. A record to set straight. A powerful "aha" moment or lesson learned - wisdom that simply must be shared. Some of the most real, vulnerable, and life-changing conversations I've participated in or witnessed have taken place while I was behind the bar. There's something special about the guest-bartender relationship - it's perhaps akin to "doctor-patient confidentially" or "attorney-client privilege". Night after night, guests from all walks of life inevitably bare their souls, confiding their deepest secrets and innermost feelings to the man or woman serving drinks behind the bar.I'm honored to have had so many confide in me over the years and allow me to speak into their lives. My years as a bartender were truly unforgettable. Here's a tip:As you approach this audiobook, think of yourself as the bartender and me as your guest. I've just slipped onto the bar stool and ordered my first drink. And now I'm about to open my heart and share with you some of my favorite memories. Relax and enjoy; the next few rounds are on me.Cheers! 1. Language: English. Narrator: Curt Bonnem. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/152696/bk_acx0_152696_sample.mp3. From New York Times best seller Corinne Michaels comes a sexy new standalone romance novel. I'm not a one-night stand kind of woman. I'm especially not the woman who has a few drinks at a concert and ends up in bed with my childhood celebrity crush, Eli Walsh. However, that's exactly where I find myself. What's a girl to do after a drunken mistake? Run. I grab my clothes and get away from the powerful, irresistible, and best-sex-of-my-life superstar as fast as I can. His gorgeous green eyes, rock-hard body, and cocky smile have no place in my world. My life is complicated enough. Someone forgot to tell him that. Eli is relentless. Pushing his way into my heart, wearing me down, proving he's nothing like I assumed, and everything I need. But when my world shatters to pieces, he holds the broken bits together. Unwillingly, I fall desperately in love with him. He made me think we'd have forever...I should've listened when he said we could only own tonight. 1. Language: English. Today was my 19th birthday, and I felt like a brand new woman. My best friends threw me a surprise party at one of their houses and I bought alcohol for the first time. It was wonderful to feel so liberated for a change. The girls convinced me to let them give me a makeover, changing my style from sweatpants and sweaters to a short skirt and tank top and a push-up bra. I didn't think I'd actually enjoy this, but after a few drinks, I embraced my new, grown-up look. I was surprised at my new level of confidence and even noticed myself walking differently. I suppose I had to with these uncomfortable shoes they made me wear. After returning home, I noticed Jack, my mother's boyfriend, gazing at me differently. We drank together for the first time, joked around, and casually flirted in the kitchen. I loved the fact that a 40-something-year-old was finally treating me like an adult and not a teenager for once. I daydreamed of us together, making love under the stars and waking up in the morning next to each other. I honestly didn't feel guilty thinking about him since my mother only used him for his money. He claimed to love her, but there was something so artificial about their relationship. The more I drank, the more spiteful I became towards her as I continued to flirt with the man I considered to be my stepfather. This whole situation felt so wrong but so right at the same time, which made it even more exciting. I wanted him badly, and I was willing to bet he wanted me too. 1. Language: English. Everybody dreams of a Hawaiian Vacation....They sell you on the drinks with little umbrellas, dolphin watching, and long walks on the beach. Which probably happens, if you’re that lucky schmuck living out your dream with your destination wedding, but if you’re a fish out of water PI like me, there’s no time for relaxing because trouble is never far behind. Instead of cocktails, I ended up dealing with the seedy underbelly of The Big Island. And I didn’t see one damn dolphin while undercover on a boat, which was spilling over with drug dealers, kingpins, and pedophiles. Elin and Elena think Cade's family are the coolest people outside of Snapchat, but it’s hard to meet the parents when your boyfriend is in his late 30s and has never had a serious relationship. I’d never missed my girls so much in my life, but Amy May, Bea, and Carmen are all dealing with issues of their own and can’t come to my rescue. The only thing that may help me with this “vacation” is if I could get Lei’d with Cupcakes.Warning: This book contains foul language, sex, some violence, and shenanigans. If none of that bothers you, grab a cupcake and listen! 1. Language: English. Narrator: Kerian Kane. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/125484/bk_acx0_125484_sample.mp3. An innocent fantasy becomes so much...more! Jennifer has no idea how her life will change when she discovers some racy hot wife movies and books. Suddenly she’s obsessed with becoming a hot wife! But things get way out of control when her husband uneasily suggests she pretend to be a hooker and he’ll be her eager john. Instead of meeting him as planned, why has she taken off with three huge black men?.... I’d stopped in a bar for a drink after dropping Jennifer off on a street corner and driving around. I’d even watched a few innings of a baseball game on the TV behind the bar, above the liquor bottles.I couldn’t concentrate on anything. All I could think about was Jennifer, dressed like a whore, on the street with a woman named Mercedes. Who definitely was a whore. What had I done? I’d put my wife, the mother of our child, on the street looking like she was a hooker. What was wrong with me? Had I lost my mind?I was in agony. My stomach hurt, my heart was racing, and I felt like throwing up. I started to feel faint and the bartender walked over to me.“Are you alright, buddy?” he asked. “Do you need anything?”I tried to answer him but found my throat seemed paralyzed.“Let me get you a ginger ale,” he offered. “Do you need me to call anybody?” I gulped the soft drink and shook my head no.“I’m just upset,” I finally got out. “I think I did something really stupid. My wife and I are playing a little game and she’s “Under the Bridge” with a hooker.”“Buddy,” he stood back and stared at me. “You better go get her. She’s not safe, especially if she’s with one of the girls. A lot of them come in here, and I even like a few, but I wouldn’t trust them with anything important. Especially not my wife.”I was frozen with fear, it was as though everything stood still for a moment. I was staring at the bartender, who wasn’t moving. The people around me had frozen in place, their drinks halfway to t 1. Language: English. Narrator: Samantha Logsdon. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/154467/bk_acx0_154467_sample.mp3. Tropical heat, money, and lust. Henry Miller once said, "One's destination is never a place, but always a new way of seeing things." I think that’s why, on an extended vacation from my programming job to Cartagena, Colombia, I let a rich and chatty American expat tell me his story. I wasn’t impressed or even particularly interested - not until I met his beautiful assistant and heard rumors that the man had a dark secret. Even then I became intrigued, mostly, I suspect, because learning the truth was a way to get to know her. This is modern fiction, a story of high-tech vigilante justice. It was inspired by a steamy tropical atmosphere, cold drinks, and lithe, sweaty bodies. It’s the story of how, ultimately, the temptation to deliver justice and satisfy my own desires (to possess both the tangible and intangible) overcame common sense and perhaps whatever common decency I once had. But then, betrayal for a worthy cause can taste mighty sweet. Even if it's never quite clear, at the end, who seduced whom, you can still have a happy ending. 1. Language: English. He slowly tried to open his eyes, and when he did, he wondered where she went. In front of him was a plain girl, red hair that hung limply down past her shoulders in no fashionable way, green eyes, not fat or anything, but not a perfect or even sexy body. She was what he and his friends would call a plain Jane. "Are you feeling better?" she asked. Then he knew, that heavenly voice, was hers. He didn't let her know that he was disappointed in who she was, he simply smiled, "Thank you so much! That was amazing, the way you helped me. I guess I had a few too many drinks, and it hit me quick." "Yeah, my sister is inside, I'm her dd. She's your girlfriend's best friend, Billie, and she always comes home from these parties sick, and I am the one who stays up all night with her, helping her through it." When he listened to her speak, he realized that there was more to this "plain Jane" then anyone knew. Without thinking, he grabbed her, pulled her close, and hugged her. It wasn't a sexual or lustful hug, but just a friendly hug to show his appreciation. Just then he heard screaming. "I turn my head for one second and my boyfriend is out here cheating on me!!!!!" Sandra screamed at the top of her lungs. She was standing in the open doorway that led out back from the house. "No." They both quickly stood and tried to speak. They both had a guilty look on their faces, even though they weren't doing anything wrong. "Really? Really? You weren't cheating? No, you just came out back, where all the Losers are, and you have some Tramp in your arms, but you are not cheating???" At this point, there was no reasoning with her. She was in a fit of rage. "You must be drunk, because look at this tramp. She has to be the ugliest thing at this party, and you are in her arms instead of mine? Have you seen me? What, you think she's sexier than me??" 1.
