Recaredo Cava Tribut Segona Plenitud 1996 Trocken

Robert Parker's WineAdvocat lobt mit 97 Punkten: \"The 1996 Segona Plenitud · 20 Años De Crianzae is another unique and limited sparkling Cava from Recaredo. It's a blend of 80% Xarello and 20% Chardonnay that they produced for the change of the millennium and their 75th anniversary. The Xarello was aged in barrique for ten months, and the Chardonnay fermented and was kept in stainless steel. It has a very smoky nose, with plenty of yeasts, bread dough and toast, combining the notes from the barrel and the long aging in bottle in contact with the lees. It has lots of complexity of aromas and flavors, with a touch of mushroom that made me think of a Roquefort cheese. It's very tasty, different, with great complexity and youth. The bubbles are so integrated that they make it nicely textured. It's a white wine with just a spark. It's a game of acidity and bitterness, as they never play with sweetness, and it's what makes their Cavas unique. This is really complex and unique, even within their wines. The complexity and freshness make it really one of the best sparkling wines I have tasted from Spain. It was disgorged in February 2018, 240 months after it was put in bottle. They plan to release some 200 bottles as an oenothèque.\" (Luis Gutiérrez, April 2018)

'It's a cliche to compare novelists to Jane Austen, but in the case of Jane Gardam it happens to be true. Her diamond-like prose, her understanding of the human heart, her formal inventiveness and her sense of what it is to be alive - young, old, lonely, in love - never fades' Amanda Craig'I love Jane Gardam, especially Old Filth' Nina Stibbe'Her work, like Sylvia Townsend Warner's, has that appealing combination of elegance, erudition and flinty wit' Patrick Gale'One of the finest writers around. Old Filth has stayed with me for years...Can't think of anyone who achieves so much with so few words' Sathnam SangheraSir Edward Feathers has had a brilliant career, from his early days as a lawyer in Southeast Asia, where he earned the nickname Old Filth (Failed In London, Try Hong Kong) to his final working days as a respected judge at the bar. Yet through it all he has carried with him the wounds of a difficult and emotionally hollow childhood. Now an eighty-year-old widower living in comfortable seclusion in Dorset, Feathers is finally free from the demands of his work and the sentimental scaffolding that has sustained him throughout his life. He slips back into the past with ever mounting frequency and intensity, and on the tide of these vivid, lyrical musings, Feathers approaches a reckoning with his own history. Not all the old filth, it seems, can be cleaned away.Jane Gardam has written a literary masterpiece that retraces much of the twentieth century's torrid and momentous history. Feathers' childhood in Malaya during the British Empire's heyday, his schooling in pre-war England, his professional success in Southeast Asia and his return to England toward the end of the millennium, are vantage points from which the reader can observe the march forward of an eventful era and the steady progress of that man, Sir Edward Feathers, Old Filth himself, who embodies the century's fate.

Nick Drake's Pink Moon (33 1/3 Series) , Hörbuc...

Did it take suicide to make Nick Drake compelling to a mass market? "I think the failure of his music to be successful in his lifetime was Nick's tragedy and the source of his unhappiness," Joe Boyd tells me, when asked about the irony of Drake's considerable posthumous success. It certainly seems likely that Drake's commercial failures goaded his depression. Which makes what happened to Pink Moon in the new millennium all the more dizzying. Pink Moon is one of the sparest, quietest albums ever to have become a "hit" in any sense of the word. Here, Amanda Petrusich investigates the album's creation, reception, and peculiar history. The result is a bewitching book about art, commerce, and the flourishing of fame. Amanda Petrusich is a writer for Pitchforkmedia.com and a senior contributing editor at Paste magazine. She is the author of It Still Moves: Lost Songs, Lost Highways, and the Search for the Next American Music, a travelogue about early Americana music forthcoming from Faber and Faber in 2008. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. 33 1/3 is a new series of short books about critically acclaimed and much-loved albums of the last 40 years. Focusing on one album rather than an artist's entire output, the books dispense with the standard biographical background that fans know already, and cut to the heart of the music on each album. The authors provide fresh, original perspectives - often through their access to and relationships with the key figures involved in the recording of these albums. By turns obsessive, passionate, creative, and informed, the books in this series demonstrate many different ways of writing about music. (A task which can be, as Elvis Costello famously observed, as tricky as dancing about architecture.) What binds this series together, and what brings it to life, is that all of the authors - musicians, scholars, and writers - are deeply in love with the album they have ch 1. Language: English. Narrator: Ben Remeaka. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/adbl/000421/bk_adbl_000421_sample.mp3. Digital audiobook in aax.
