"I am here and I have hours to wait before I may take possession of this holiday flat for a simple fortnight's pleasure. The journey behind me collapses into the hinterland of my mind, rolled up as the past takes possession, penning it into its cavity and alcove. The capital seems a long way off. I think of the oval frosted glass and the sound of my neighbour's radio and the silence of the dawn and the work that has to be done in the unfolding unpredictability of the setting. I need to think carefully and to compose myself and imagine that the holidays are here and that everything is alright. But everything is not alright." (Jonathan Wood)

The Penguin English Library Edition of Tess of the D'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy"I would be content, ay, glad, to live with you as your servant, if I may not as your wife, so that I could only be near you, and get glimpses of you, and think of you as mine ... I long for only one thing in heaven or earth or under the earth, to meet you, my own dear! Come to me - come to me, and save me from what threatens me!"When Tess Durbeyfield is driven by family poverty to claim kinship with the wealthy D'Urbervilles and seek a portion of their family fortune, meeting her 'cousin' Alec proves to be her downfall. Ruthie narrates the sisters' story as Lucille moves out into the world and Ruth falls further back into her own family's dark past. Against the stunning backdrop of a bleak wintery landscape in a small desolate town, Marilynne Robinson's first novel is a powerful portrayal of loss, loneliness and the struggle towards adulthood. In an interview in the Guardian in 2009 after winning the Orange Prize Marilynne Robinson said "It seems to me that the small drama of conversation and thought and reflection, that is so much more individual, so much less clichéd than - I mean when people set out on an adventure, I think 90 times out of 100, they've read about it in a brochure. That's not the part of life that interests me."

Education Reflections Through Albanian History ...
41,10 € *

The union of these two things from Albanians in the historical context which in the first view are contradictory to each other, makes me curious to trace and choose as a thematic treatment. I am convinced that such a treatment is very unusual, in addition to this I think the evolving of this topic is quite important, because the story is not only informed about the events that have characterized a certain era, period or phrase time in the distant past or even close. But what we really need is the educational lessons we take from our past, whether good or bad, so that we do not repeat the mistakes and cultivate the good things constantly, promoting as values of the past in the context of contemporary and modern dynamics when values are becoming anti value and conversely. So, the entire Albanian history shrink only in two words of rifle and pen, nothing more.
